I had the chance to escape to the Pacific Northwest for a few days last month. I flew into Seattle, rented a car and drove down to Portland to spend a short night there, and ended my time back in Washington. The drive on the 5 freeway from Seattle to Portland is one of my favorite drives - the views are scenic and lush, so different from the views in California! I wish I had more time on my trip to explore Washington and Oregon, there is so much to see. I was determined to at least visit Portland's greatest hits (aka Multnomah Falls). It didn't disappoint, but I am looking forward to going back and hiking some of the great trails and spend some time exploring beyond. I was also hoping to visit Reflection Lakes on my drive back to Seattle, but unfortunately I ran out of time! Next time I'm coming for you Reflection Lakes.
Here are some of my photos from the weekend!

Back in Washington:
My brother knows that I love to thrift/antique shop, so he took me to Snohomish - known as the "Antique Capital of the Northwest." It's always interesting for me to see the type of antiques in different regions around the US. The antiques in Snohomish were not entirely my taste and also priced a little high but I still managed to come away with great finds I scored at a steal.
My goods:
Vintage Coffee glasses with brass handles and copper handles, creamer and sugar bowl to add to my Coppercraft Guild collection, oversized brass keys (very heavy and very useless but how cool?!), glass tray with lucite and gold detailing, salt cellars (you can never have enough), vintage gold compact/mirror (I'm going to try to convert this into a wallet), and a candle holder.
Till next time, PNW.
